At the 21st Electoral Assembly of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU), two regular members, eight corresponding members, four members outside the working group and two honorary members were elected.
Of the two regular members, one is from the “Goce Delcev” University, and that is Prof. Dr. Blazho Boev. Previous rector of the University and long-time professor at the Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Prof. Dr. Stojko Stojkov from the Faculty of Educational Sciences has been elected as a member of MANU outside the working group. Prof. Dr. Stojko Stojkov is a professor of medieval history and a leader in the movement of Macedonians in Bulgaria for minority and human rights.
The Academy and the management express great satisfaction with the quality of the newly elected members and wish them continued successful work in the direction of advancing the sciences and arts.
“Their election strengthens the working character, as well as the capacity of MANU to contribute to defining the strategic directions for the development of the country. The successful completion of the 21st Electoral Assembly of MANU rounds off the election process that began at the beginning of this year, which testifies to the attention and seriousness with which the elections of new members are approached in the highest scientific institution in our country,” the Academy said in a statement.
