Iskra Postolova from the students and Ilina Doneva from the high school students took home the awards from the Commission at yesterday’s Oratory Evening of the UGD. Danica Lefkova, on the other hand, won first place with the votes of the audience.
13 speeches at the thirteenth edition of the Oratory Evening of the UGD yesterday took place in a great atmosphere and in front of a packed hall. This year, the speeches of the young students and high school students focused on the tragedy in Kocani, corruption in the system, the lack of justice and fair conditions for all.
All participants received a certificate and a letter of commendation for their participation, and the best ones also received cash prizes provided entirely by the “Goce Delcev” University.
“This is one of those events that over time acquires special value. Not only because they are held every year, but because they become part of the identity of the Faculty and part of the experience of many generations. Today we can say that these evenings are a space where skills, self-confidence, clarity of thought, ability to argue and perhaps most importantly, the courage to stand behind one’s own position and speak in front of an audience are developed,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Biljana Todorova.
The Oratory Evening was performed by students from several faculties within the UGD, as well as a large number of high school students from high schools in the region.
