The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) has launched a new Call for Scientific Internships programme, aimed at young researchers and graduates who want to gain experience in the European scientific community. The call is open until 21 October 2025, 15:00.
The programme offers a stimulating, multicultural and interdisciplinary environment, where interns will have the opportunity to work on real scientific projects and gain insight into how science supports European policy-making.
The JRC is the leading scientific institution within the European Commission, with centres in several European cities, covering a wide range of areas – from agriculture and food safety, health, energy, climate change and digital transformation, to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, nuclear safety and crisis management.
This Call aims to create an inclusive and diverse community of trainees, reflecting the cultural and scientific diversity of Europe. The programme supports the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion, regardless of gender, origin, age, religion, sexual orientation or disability.
Under the March 2026 Call, the JRC will provide traineeships for around 50 scientific trainees in 11 thematic areas. Each candidate can apply for multiple areas, but should choose the one in which they have the most experience and interest as their first option.
Trainees will have the opportunity to work in scientific laboratories or research teams, with limited possibilities for remote working. The work will be tailored to the needs of the specific project and will allow direct contact with researchers and experts from the European Commission.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of North Macedonia encourages all interested students and young scientists to apply and take advantage of this valuable opportunity for professional development and European experience.
