Students and teaching staff from the University “Goce Delcev” are at the center of the events of the second Kaleidoscope Festival, which is being held in Romania within the framework of the European University Alliance ACE²-EU.
The event unites representatives from all nine universities within the Alliance and creates a platform for cultural exchange, academic cooperation and multidisciplinary learning.
One of the most impressive moments of the festival so far was the performance of the students from the Music Academy at UGD, more precisely from the Department of Ethnochoreology and Folk Music. With the performance of authentic Macedonian traditional songs and dances at the event “Kaleidoscope of Cultures Showcase”, they caused admiration and achieved an excellent reception among the audience consisting of students and professors from all partner institutions in the Alliance.
Active participation in parallel academic and innovative modules
In addition to the cultural presentation, representatives from the UGD actively participate in the rich program that includes parallel academic and practical content. Professors are part of the lecturers and panelists within the schools, and students from the University are part of the specialized modules and interactive workshops. Numerous events such as ABC schools, Flavor schools and BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) are held at the festival.
The Rector of the UGD had his presentation, together with some of the other rectors of the ACE2EU alliance within the Ace Talks panel. During this event, the significance of the Alliance for individual universities, as well as for students, was highlighted in front of numerous students.
“This Alliance is of exceptional importance for our students. We are not in the European Union, but our students are equal to students from the European Union. This Alliance offers them the opportunity to study side by side with their EU colleagues and to acquire knowledge and skills equal to students from the Union. When you unite the capacities of all nine universities within the alliance, believe me, you have resources that are comparable to the best scientific institutions in the world,” said the Rector of the UGD, Prof. Dr. Dejan Mirakovski.
The Kaleidoscope Festival, which has grown into a traditional annual event of the ACE²-EU alliance, is this year being held under the motto “100 Voices – One Future”. The host of the three-day event is Constantin Brancusi University in Targu Jiu, Romania, where, through debates, panel discussions with senior European representatives, digital challenges and cultural events, a space for cooperation between future generations of academic citizens is being created.
The participation of the UGD in such international frameworks once again confirms the openness, quality and commitment of the University to European educational standards and the promotion of the Macedonian cultural heritage on the European stage.
