On the occasion of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, the Faculty of Philology at Goce Delčev University is organizing an event entitled “Italy – Ingenuity and Style: Italian Fashion and Cuisine Between Tradition, Creativity and Innovation”, featuring lectures by Prof. Dr. Dušica Popova from the Faculty of Tourism and Business Logistics and Prof. Dr. Sanja Risteski from the Faculty of Technology and Technical Sciences at Goce Delčev University.

The event will take place on Tuesday, 27 October, at 12:00 noon, at the UGD Training Centre.

The theme of this year’s, 26th Week of the Italian Language in the World is “A Genius Language: Conceiving, Designing and Creating in the Italian Language.” This theme falls within the scope of the newly established Directorate-General for Growth and Export Promotion, in which the Italian language and the Italian-speaking community become privileged instruments for promoting and disseminating Italy’s economic growth abroad, highlighting the strong connection between growth and culture.

Through its “ingenious” language—a legacy of a long and rich history and tradition—Italy exports the best of its knowledge and expertise, expressed through technology, science, engineering, design, fashion, gastronomy, literature, art and history.

The event will also be attended by His Excellency Paolo Palminteri, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy, accompanied by a delegation from the Embassy. On this occasion, a donation of books for the teaching staff and students of the Italian Language and Literature study programme will also be formally presented.
