A delegation from the University of Beira Interior (UBI) – Portugal paid a two-day institutional visit to the University of Goce Delcev – Stip, with the aim of promoting inter-university cooperation and opening new opportunities for joint academic and research initiatives.
The Portuguese delegation included Prof. João Leitao, Vice-Rector for Finance, Administrative Modernization and Community Interaction, Prof. Bruno Ferreira Costa, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Institutional Communication, and Dr. Dina Pereira, Manager of UBIMedical.
The delegation first met with the management of UGD, and then with all the deans of the faculties at the University. During the meetings with the management and representatives of the faculties at UGD, specific opportunities for deepening cooperation were discussed. The focus of the discussions were:
- expansion of Erasmus agreements (areas and number of mobilities);
- development of joint study programs, including opportunities for double degrees and online courses;
- identification of joint research areas;
- preparation of applications for European funds and joint participation in EU-funded projects.
The visit is a continuation of previous meetings between the two institutions and part of the strategic efforts of the UGD to strengthen internationalization and position the University in the European academic space.
Both sides expressed readiness for further intensive cooperation, with concrete steps towards formalizing new agreements and initiating joint project activities in the coming period.
