UGD with productions of Skopje Dance Theater 2 performs in Bratislava tonight

Within the framework of the International Festival “Share” in Bratislava, Slovakia, tonight the students of the Department of Contemporary Dance at the University “Goce Delcev” will perform with productions of Skopje Dance Theater 2, as part of the theater’s program for 2026 under the title “Contemporary Choreographers”.

The performance will be held as part of the festival’s performance program, on the stage “Theater – LAB” of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, and two choreographies will be performed, productions of Skopje Dance Theater 2: “Trending Apocalypse” (fragment), by choreographer Adriana Dancevska-Rovcanin and the choreography “I Still Look” by Italian choreographer Gilda Cesario, who was a guest choreographer of Skopje Dance Theater. The following will perform: Nadja Lukanova, Nina Petrushevska, Ivona Manevska, Elena Terzieva, Teona Gjurovska, Mihalea Kolcunova, Mia Petrovic and Marija Andovska, graduates of the UGD.

As part of the festival, Prof. Dr. Risima Risimkin, yesterday, presented the paper “Contemporary Dance and New Technologies”, and today, Associate Professor Adriana Dancevska-Rovcanin, current Dean of the Department of Contemporary Dance at the UGD, will give her presentation entitled “Rhythm as a Choreographic Generator: Composition of Movement through the Energy of Rave Culture”.

The International Festival of Dance Universities “Share” is being held from 9 to 3 June 2026 for the sixth time in Bratislava, Slovakia, as a platform of several European dance academies and universities, namely: “Academy of Performing Arts” in Bratislava, Slovakia; Anton Bruckner University of Linz and the University of Music and Performing Arts of the City of Vienna from Austria; Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre; Duncan Conservatory Center from Prague, Czech Republic; College of Circus Arts and Contemporary Dance from Budapest, Hungary; Academy of Performing Arts from Prague, Czech Republic and Department of Contemporary Dance at Goce Delcev University from Stip, Macedonia. A huge number of young artists, students and professors are sharing their experiences these days through workshops and evening programs. The Share Festival was formed in 2017, when it was first held in Bratislava, Slovakia, with the aim of setting up a platform for cooperation of young European contemporary dancers.

In Bratislava, the festival is held every other year, and in 2018, the second edition of “Share” was held as part of the “Dance Fest” in Skopje and Stip, with the participation of over a hundred young artists and professors. A large number of collaborations have emerged from the festival, including the “Sharing Dance Practices” project of the Ceepus program, which is taking place in 2025-2026, and will continue in the 2026-2027 season and which enables greater mobility of students at several European dance academies and universities, among which the Department of Contemporary Dance at the UGD is a partner in the program.
