123 years since the death of Goce Delcev in Stip were marked in the organization of the University “Goce Delcev” and the Municipality of Stip.
In an atmosphere that associates with the great man of the Macedonian revolutionary struggle, in the courtyard in front of the Rectorate of the University of Music, the building where Goce Delcev taught, the students of folk instruments from the Academy of Music, class of Prof. M.A. Marjan Jankoski, presented their performance, and the anthems of the Republic of Macedonia and the University “Goce Delcev” were performed by the Academic Choir of the Academy of Music, under the baton of Prof. Toshe Mitrev.
– Today, we proudly and respectfully commemorate the figure and work of our patron Goce Delcev, who was not only an apostle of Macedonian freedom, but also a visionary and humanist for his time, who, with the statement that he understood the world as a field for cultural competition between nations, in a period of wars, creation of new nations, showed that instead of weapons, knowledge and culture can play a major role. And it is we, as a university that proudly bears his name, who strive to be worthy successors through education, science, the development of culture, international cooperation, to follow the principles of humanism that the great Goce Delcev has set and to be worthy successors and bearers of his name – said the rector of the Goce Delchev University, Prof. Dr. Dejan Mirakovski.
