Dear students,
The University Sports and Cultural Centre at Goce Delcev University – Stip, in cooperation with Mountaineering Association “Lisec” – Stip, is organising a mountaineering tour on Mount Plackovica, including ascents to the peaks Turtel (1,607 m a.s.l.) and Crkviste (1,693 m a.s.l.), as well as a visit to the new church “St. Spyridon”. The tour will take place on 06 June 2026, Saturday.

- Location: in front of the new post office in Stip (location)
- Transport: organised by the university.
Description of the hiking trail:
The hike starts from the location known as “Bilbordi” on Mount Plackovica. We will follow a circular trail, first towards Turtel peak (1,607 m a.s.l.), then towards the church “St. Spyridon”, and continue to Crkviste peak (1,693 m a.s.l.), where we will enjoy beautiful mountain views and horizons. The trail is fully covered by forest and offers pleasant shade.
After completing the hike, we will return to the starting point “Bilbordi”, after which organised transport will take us to the mountain lodge “Vrteska”, where lunch will be provided — hot chicken soup.
The trail is classified as easy and is suitable for beginners.
Trail characteristics:
- Length: 14 km total
- Elevation gain: 500 m
- Duration: 4–5 hours, depending on the pace of the group
Required equipment. Each participant should have appropriate equipment:
- Hiking shoes
- Backpack and hiking poles
- Comfortable sports clothing, preferably layered
- Windbreaker or sweatshirt
- Raincoat, hat and sunglasses
- Water, minimum 1 litre
- Food, one meal of your choice; lunch will be provided
