Споделете

As part of the ACE2EU Alliance, the school entitled “Functional Food: When Science Meets the Bioeconomy and Creates a Healthy Lifestyle” began this week at Goce Delcev University (UGD).

The Faculty of Agriculture is the lead faculty, and the programme is being held at several locations, combining extensive theoretical and practical instruction.

The course brings together students, researchers and representatives of the business sector, who aim to address real-world challenges in the agro-industry throughout the week.

Following the successful completion of the online phase, which began on 5 October, participants are now engaged in extensive hands-on work in the university’s UNILAB laboratory, where detailed physicochemical analyses are carried out.

An important component of the programme is a series of field visits to prominent domestic companies. Students have had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into industrial processes through visits to Kukutanov Winery, where they learned about the challenges facing the winemaking industry, as well as the oil-producing companies Agrofila and Vitaminka-Brilijant.

Goce Delcev University is the lead institution for the programme, which is implemented in cooperation with its partner universities within the Alliance: Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Spain and the Polytechnic University of Santarém in Portugal. The programme awards 3 ECTS credits and a certificate of participation.

By combining virtual learning, laboratory research and collaboration with local producers, UGD continues to firmly position scientific knowledge at the service of sustainable development in the agri-food sector and the promotion of young talent.
