Goce Delcev University – Stip, as the leading academy and coordinator, announces the holding of the physical mobility of the prestigious Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), entitled “Art and Choreography as a Tool for Social Transformation”.
The programme, which takes place within the framework of the European alliance ACE²-EU, starts this Monday (August 31) and will last until September 4, 2026. The event unites students and mentors from three European universities under its auspices:
- Goce Delcev University – Stip (North Macedonia) – main organizer and host, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adriana Dancevska (Film Academy – Contemporary Dance) and prof. Dr. Jana Jakimovska (Academy of Fine Arts – Classical Painting);
- Universidad Francisco de Vitoria – UFV (Spain) – Prof. Julie Ann Marsden;
- Latvian Academy of Culture – LAC (Latvia) – Prof. Ilze Zirina.
The non-university partner and main collaborator in this project is the KUC “Textile” association, whose testimonies and archival materials on workers’ rights served as the main inspiration and research base for the students.
This intensive interdisciplinary program positions choreography, fine arts and language as powerful tools for social transformation and public dialogue. Through a practical-research and transmedia approach, 20 selected students from all faculties of the ACE²-EU alliance translate the real testimonies of textile workers into abstract artistic segments — through body and movement, visual art and word.
Public Event at MKC – Skopje
The culmination of this several-week international collaboration will be crowned with a public performance-installation and exhibition, which will be held at the Youth Cultural Center (MCC) in Skopje.
The event will allow the audience to directly confront issues of labor rights and contemporary social challenges, presented through the youthful artistic vision of the international student ensemble.
Students who successfully complete the program will gain 3 ECTS credits, but above all, invaluable experience in the field of artistic activism, community and European cultural cooperation.
