Santarém, Portugal, and Riga, Latvia. Two different mobility programmes, two invaluable experiences, and one significant goal achieved — progress and success!

Written by: Melani Ivanova, third-year Law Studies student at the Faculty of Law

As part of the ACE²-EU European University Alliance, I participated in two international mobility programmes focusing, on the one hand, on the future of local communities and the transformation of the labour market, and, on the other, on cultural heritage in the context of contemporary societal developments. These experiences gave me the opportunity to exchange knowledge, engage in intercultural dialogue, and contribute to the advancement of contemporary educational practices.

Through field visits, research, interactive lectures, and analyses tailored to the specific needs of each topic, we stood out by developing innovative proposed solutions, which we subsequently transformed into final outputs with the potential to contribute to local communities and their sustainable development.

The ABC (Applied Blended Challenge) programmes enable participants to work in international teams, through which we not only promote our home universities but also acquire competencies that extend beyond the academic sphere. These include teamwork and communication skills, which help us develop the ability to approach and understand problems from different perspectives.

These experiences build upon my participation in several activities at the national level hosted by the Faculty of Law at Goce Delcev University – Stip (UGD), fostering knowledge acquisition, collaboration, and personal development. As a representative of the Faculty, I have come to appreciate even more deeply the value of Goce Delcev University, which is not merely a place for professional and personal growth, but also a springboard for exploring the world and discovering new horizons.

My professors also hold a special place in my academic journey. Their support, dedication, and encouragement provide a strong driving force, inspiring me to pursue even greater academic and scientific achievements beyond the boundaries of formal education.
