We inform all interested citizens that on September 25, 2026 (Friday), the European Researchers’ Night 2026 will be held. This event includes a variety of interactive activities that will take place throughout the day in Shtip, Skopje, Bitola and Ohrid, as well as in a large number of European cities.
The European Researchers’ Night is a European initiative dedicated to bringing science and research closer to the public, creating opportunities for direct communication with scientists and stimulating interest in science, research and innovation among all generations. The activities related to the European Researchers’ Night 2026 are implemented within the framework of the CHOOSE SCIENCE project – “Choose Science! Building Society through Research and Innovation” (https://choose-science.eu/).
The activities organized by the “Goce Delcev” University – Stip, on the occasion of the European Researchers’ Night 2026, will begin on September 24, with a plenary lecture by academician prof. Dr. Blazho Boev on the topic “The Importance of the K-T Geological Boundary in the Evolution of the Earth”, starting at 11:00 AM, Amphitheater 2, Campus 2.
On September 25 (Friday), numerous activities will be held in Shtip, Skopje, Bitola and Ohrid in various formats and on various topics – from interactive workshops, scientific demonstrations and presentations, musical and stage performances, to exhibitions, panels, laboratory visits and conversations with researchers.
In Shtip, the activities on September 25 begin at 9:00 AM with Open Laboratories on Campus 2. At 10:30 AM there will be a panel discussion on the topic The Role of Scientific Achievements on Society: Food – Friend or Foe of Your Health. At 12:30 PM, 5 lectures by renowned professors from our University will be held on topics related to science and research. The main ceremony, entitled Art and Science under the Stars, will be held at Sloboda Square in Shtip from 6 p.m., where students from the Music Academy and the Film Academy will present a rich cultural and artistic program and a musical and stage performance. Students from the Faculty of Technology and Engineering will present a fashion show on the theme “Sci-Waste: FUTURE FORM – Decoding waste, coding future”, and students from the Academy of Fine Arts with their best works of art. Another reason to visit the Research Night under the Stars is the rich and creative content at the stands of the faculties of the University of Applied Sciences and some high schools.
