Goce Delchev University has become an associate member of the European University Foundation (EUF), following the unanimous approval of the European University Foundation’s Board of Directors and General Assembly.

The European University Foundation, based in Luxembourg, is a prestigious network of leading European universities dedicated to the modernisation of higher education, with a focus on quality mobility, digitalisation, employability and social justice. The Foundation has around 89 members, including the University of Zurich, Humboldt University of Berlin, Ghent University, Trinity College Dublin, Université Paris-Saclay, University of Barcelona, Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Warsaw, University of Luxembourg, University of Porto, Charles University and others.

The European University Foundation is one of the key drivers of “Erasmus paperless” — in particular the Erasmus Without Paper and European Student Card initiatives. It is precisely because of these initiatives that Goce Delchev University has been awarded the title of Champion by the European Commission for the period 2025-2027, as one of the most successful universities in the country that actively implements and aligns its processes and services with digital standards within the Single European Space.

Accession to the EUF will enhance the international visibility of the University, join us at the first echelon of digital innovations in Erasmus and open up targeted opportunities for mutual learning and partnerships that will directly improve our mobility processes and the student experience. In addition, UGD, as an associate member of the Foundation, will establish close cooperation in the promotion of higher education, digitalization, mobility and scientific research, which will further strengthen the opportunities for UGD students and employees across Europe.
