Students, professors and employees of the University of Goce Delcev – Stip participated this weekend in a hiking tour of the Plačkovica mountain, organized in cooperation with the Mountaineering Association “Lisec” from Stip.
The participants walked a 14-kilometer trail with about 500 meters of elevation gain, during which they climbed the peaks of Turtel (1607 m) and Crkvište (1693 m), and also visited the church of “St. Spyridon”.
In addition to enjoying the natural beauties of Plačkovica, the event also had a strong ecological dimension. During the tour, the participants carried out a mountain cleaning campaign, collecting two full bags of waste left along the trail.
The hiking tour was part of the activities aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyle habits, recreation and socializing among members of the academic community, but also at raising awareness of environmental protection.
The trail started from the location known as “Billboards” on Plachkovica and moved along a circular route through forest areas that provided participants with pleasant walking conditions. After the tour, a joint gathering was organized at the “Vrteshka” mountain lodge.
The excellent atmosphere, physical activity and joint care for nature marked this action, sending a message that everyone can contribute to a cleaner and more beautiful environment.
