UGD and INOVA will develop innovations and startups

University “Goce Delcev” – Stip, together with other public universities, on April 3, in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia officially signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Agency for Innovation, Technological Development and Entrepreneurship INOVA.

This initiative represents a platform for more intensive cooperation between the state and academia, in order to stimulate the competitiveness of the Macedonian economy and accelerate the transfer of knowledge and technology to the business sector. This cooperation will enable the initiation of new scientific research and professional-applied projects, greater engagement of professors and researchers through investing in modern scientific infrastructure and putting it into operation in the transfer of new technologies.

At the same time, the focus of the cooperation is supporting academic entrepreneurship and greater involvement of young people in order to build competencies in accordance with the needs of the labor market.

The Rector of the University “Goce Delcev” – Stip, Prof. Dr. Dejan Mirakovski, in his presentation, pointed out that the University is fully prepared to participate in the processes of developing an innovation ecosystem, is maximally dedicated to increasing cooperation with industry and the business sector, and is actively working towards providing systemic support to students in developing business ideas and commercializing innovations through the establishment of startup companies.
