The Fifth International Scientific and Professional Conference “Agroscience and Practice 2026” (ANP 2026) was held today at the Faculty of Agriculture at the University “Goce Delcev” – Stip, which was attended by numerous domestic and foreign experts, researchers, representatives from institutions and the real sector.

The conference aims to enable the exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas, as well as to strengthen cooperation between science and practice in agriculture. The event is a platform for discussing the current challenges facing the agricultural sector, including climate change, sustainable production and the economic stability of producers.

The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Emilija Arsov, emphasized in her address that this year’s edition of the conference has a distinctly international character, with participants from several European countries.

“This year we have numerous participants, both from the country and abroad – from the Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, Kosovo and Turkey, who will present their scientific research. Thus, the conference gains a strong international dimension,” said Prof. Dr. Emilija Arsov.

She emphasized that the essence of the consultation is precisely in connecting scientific achievements with practical application.

“We are continuously working on a connection between science and practice. In times of climate change and numerous challenges, it is our obligation to contribute to modern and sustainable agricultural production,” Arsov emphasized, adding that a joint approach is necessary because “the problems we face are common to the entire region.”

More than 30 participants from the manufacturing sector were also presented as part of the event, who presented the practical aspects of their work through their stands, which further strengthens the connection between the academic community and industry.

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Cvetan Tripunovski, emphasized that such events are of particular importance for creating effective policies in agriculture.

“It is extremely important for the Ministry that there is a connection between science and the real sector. Every strategy and document that we bring must be based on scientific knowledge, because only in this way can we create sustainable policies,” Tripunovski emphasized.

He also sent a message to young people, emphasizing their role in the future of the sector.

“Young people are the future leaders in agriculture. We need to bring new energy and modern approaches, especially in the area of modernization. Agriculture is not a social branch, but a strategic activity that produces quality food,” the minister emphasized.

Plenary lectures and panel discussions dedicated to global challenges in food security, climate change and the future of agriculture were held throughout the day. Special emphasis was placed on topics such as the resilience of the agricultural sector, innovation and sustainable management of natural resources.

The conference covered several scientific areas, including agroeconomics, animal husbandry, crop production, food safety, ecology and oenology, thus enabling a comprehensive approach to agricultural development.

The event ended with poster sessions and conclusions, emphasizing the need to further strengthen cooperation between the academic community, institutions and the private sector, in order to ensure sustainable and competitive agriculture in the country and the region.
