The Music Academy at the University of Music and Dance – Shtip with its representatives, Prof. MA Zlatka Miteva, Dean, and Prof. PhD Valentina Velkovska-Trajanovska, Vice-Dean, participated in the “China-CEEC Forum of Music Academy Deans and Rectors 2025” in China, as a full member of the Union of Music Academies.
In addition to the addresses by all the rectors, deans and vice-deans present with a presentation of the capacities and programs offered by the music faculties and academies, the Forum discussed proposals for future cooperation between the members and opportunities for strengthening the exchange of students and teaching staff, with the aim of a higher quality and comprehensive education for students. The attendees expressed their gratitude to the organizer, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, for organizing the Forum and Festival of Music and Dance in Hangzhou, China, with exceptional success over the past six years. The initiative for this extraordinary event stems from the Fourth Forum of Ministers of Culture for Cultural Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries.
As part of the Forum, a panel discussion was held on the topic of “Music Education and the Digital Era”, at which Prof. Zlatka Miteva, MA, gave a presentation and views on the transformation of music education in the digital world.
The festival is a unique event within the activities of all members, due to the type of cooperation, the opportunities it reveals, but also due to the opening of the member countries in the field of culture.
In addition to the Forum address, the professors from the Music Academy at the University of Music and Dance – Shtip held lectures in the departments of their fields, Prof. Zlatka Miteva, MA, at the flute department and Prof. Dr. Valentina Velkovska-Trajanovska at the Department of Composition, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in China.
As a result of the many years of excellent cooperation between the Music Academy at the UGD – Shtip and Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, Prof. M.A. Zlatka Miteva and Prof. Dr. Valentina Velkovska Trajanovska, held a bilateral meeting with Prof. Dong Dejun, Vice President of the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, China, and Prof. Dr. Wang Rui, President of the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, China, at which they agreed to continue the cooperation between the two academies in the future.
