During the period from 20 to 21 April 2026, within the framework of the conference “Connecting Policy and Practice: What’s Next for Higher Education in Erasmus+”, organized by the European University Foundation, Prof. Dr. Ana Nikodinovska Krstevska, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Prof. Dr. Borka Tuševska Gavrilovska, Head of the Department of Lifelong Learning at the University “Goce Delcev” – Stip, participated.
he conference brought together more than 50 members of the European University Foundation and over 30 representatives of relevant institutions and organizations, who discussed the future programming period 2028–2034 and recommendations for further development of the Erasmus+ program. The focus of the discussions was the increase in the Erasmus+ budget to at least 47 billion euros, the promotion of inclusiveness, digitalization and support for green travel.
Of particular importance for the University was the panel discussion dedicated to the future of European university alliances, considering that the strategic commitment to internationalization is actively being implemented through the ACE2EU Alliance.
As part of the visit, the UGD delegation also met with Zulfi Ismaili, Ambassador and Head of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of North Macedonia to the European Union in Brussels. The meeting discussed the possibilities for promoting cooperation within the framework of the existing Memorandum of Cooperation, as well as the need for a more active role of the state in the promotion and integration of Macedonian higher education institutions into the single European educational space.
The University points out that the acquired knowledge, exchanged experiences and established professional contacts represent an important basis for further promoting the international cooperation of the UGD.
