The opening ceremony will be attended by:
- the rector of the University “Goce Delchev” – Shtip;
- a representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in the Republic of Macedonia.
The symposium is organized in co-organization with the Faculty of Philology at UGD – Shtip and the Association “HID-BAH-SHEN-FEST” from Çalakli, Valandovo, with support from the Institute for Research on Folk Culture in Ankara.
This is the first symposium dedicated to the Turkish community in Macedonia, and the “Spring Festivities” – Çalakli festival is the first official festival of the Turkish community in the country, whose celebration of the Hidrelez holiday in 2017 was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The aim of the Symposium is to strengthen cultural ties between the Turkish and Macedonian people, as well as with other ethnic communities in the Republic of North Macedonia.
