We are pleased to announce the participation of Goce Delchev University in the IMPACTWHEEL project, funded by the European Higher Education Initiative (EIT) as part of their 2024 Call for Proposals (https://eit-hei.eu/projects/impactwheel ).
This important project aims to strengthen the capacities of higher education institutions in Europe and to encourage the development of innovation and entrepreneurship. It is aimed at developing competences and solutions in line with global and societal challenges, by encouraging the transfer of academic knowledge to the market.
As a partner in the IMPACTWHEEL project, Goce Delchev University will have the opportunity to strengthen its capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship, which will contribute to the development of the local innovation ecosystem. This will open up new opportunities for students and academic staff, providing them with access to new training programs and micro-credentials, as well as support in knowledge transfer and the creation of new companies.
The IMPACTWHEEL consortium is strategically designed to secure the most qualified and experienced entities that can provide the necessary expertise to achieve the ambitious goals of the project. The consortium integrates entities from higher education, research, business and innovation, including 6 universities (Universidade da Beira Interior with UBImedical Incubator, Universidad Pública de Navarra, University of St. Andrews American Foundation, Inc., Rīgas Ekonomikas augstskola – Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Universidade “Goce Delchev” de Shtip, Unimercatorum), two intermediary organizations representing higher education institutions (NOVA FORUM – Instituto de Formação de Executivos da UNL, CEIPIEMONTE s.c.p.a.) and two companies with expertise in innovation and entrepreneurship (Ambiom, INOVA+). To ensure maximum impact, the consortium is designed with geographical diversity, with partners from different EU regions bringing local knowledge and specific perspectives, namely Italy, Latvia, North Macedonia, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and the United Kingdom (Scotland). The project is coordinated by the University of Beira Interior (UBI) through the UBImedical Incubator.
By participating in this European initiative, Goce Delchev University will be able to strengthen its innovation capacities, increase academic commercialization and integrate the higher education institution into the global innovation ecosystem. Students, academic staff and entrepreneurs will gain access to new tools, networks and resources that will help them develop their innovation ideas.
