Successfully implemented STEM workshop for young researchers at UGD Makerspace

Споделете

The Makerspace laboratory at UGD hosted young researchers from several cities in Macedonia, who had the opportunity to spend a day filled with science, technology, practical work and lots of fun.

During the workshop, the participants got acquainted with the humanoid robot Alpha 1S, programmed its movements, and then practiced with it, trying to follow and repeat the previously programmed movements. They also had the opportunity to control the robotic dog Unitree in conditions that simulate real terrain, guiding it along a pre-marked path and through various obstacles. Through this activity, they learned how to precisely control its movement and recognize its application when exploring hard-to-reach or unsafe places. Meanwhile, the participants explored different types of 3D printers and became familiar with the entire 3D printing process – from drawing and modeling the 3D object, to its preparation and printing. They also learned how to use VR glasses and entered the world of virtual reality.

The young researchers also learned the basics of 3D modeling for games, Arduino technology and robotics, and through practical activities they turned their ideas into creative technological solutions.

In addition to the educational part, fun and educational games were organized through which the participants developed logic, creativity, competitive spirit and teamwork skills. The workshop was filled with positive energy, camaraderie and joint solving of challenges.

As a memento of the visit to the UGD Makerspace laboratory, the participants also received gifts in the form of 3D-printed toys, designed especially for this occasion.

The successfully implemented workshop showed that learning can be interesting, interactive and fun at the same time. UGD Makerspace continues to be a space in which young people can explore, experiment, create and develop their ideas with the help of modern technologies.
