The Embassy of France and the French Institute in Skopje have announced the Call for French Government Scholarships France Excellence, intended for master’s level studies.

It is an opportunity to finance master’s level studies, through the France Excellence Scholarship Program.

The deadline for applications is May 15, 2026.

The France Excellence Scholarship covers the administrative costs of enrolling in a state diploma program at state higher education institutions, as well as a monthly allowance for the beneficiary’s living expenses.

Candidates for the France Excellence Scholarship should inquire at the higher education institution where they will apply for a master’s degree, to check whether additional costs for the study program are added to the administrative costs for enrollment. These additional costs will not be covered by the France Excellence scholarship and these costs remain the responsibility of the scholarship student.

The status of scholarship holder of the French Government offers the following advantages:

  • the possibility of accommodation at a favorable price in student dormitories managed by CROUS;
  • health insurance for the period until you register with the Health Insurance Fund;
  • additional health insurance;
    • • transportation to the city where you will follow your studies;
    • • cultural activities at favorable prices.

Scholarship holders undertake to follow their studies in France. Stays in other countries (within the framework of the Erasmus+ exchange programs or other programs) are not allowed for the duration of the scholarship.

Requirements that the candidate must meet:
– have Macedonian citizenship;
– be up to 30 years of age.

Knowledge of French, level B2, is recommended. Priority will be given to studies in French and in the field of natural sciences.

However, in exceptional cases, requests for specific English-language programs may be considered for students who have high academic achievements and who demonstrate the viability and justification of their project for studies in France and a professional career.
