At the General Assembly of the European Physical Education Association (EUPEA) https://eupea.com/, which was held in Mykonos, Greece, Prof. Dr. Biljana Popeska from the Faculty of Educational Sciences at UGD was elected Vice-President of EUPEA.
EUPEA is the highest organization in Europe in the physical education segment. It unites physical education teachers, physical education teacher educators and researchers in the field of physical education and sports sciences from all over Europe and is an umbrella organization with more than 50 members from all over Europe. EUPEA’s work is in the domain of building policies and reforms to improve the quality of physical education, professional development of teachers and promotion of quality physical education as part of overall education, following the motto “there is no education without physical education”.
The election of Prof. Dr. Popeska’s election is a continuation of her work as a member of the Executive Board for the past three years and her six-year membership as a Board member and representative for Southeast Europe. The election is a recognition of her work in the area of building strategies for quality physical education, inclusion in physical education, the EU Physical Education Barometer, etc.
