Goce Delchev University received recognition this year from the Regional Journalists’ Association East, an informal association of journalists operating in the eastern region of the country. This year, UGD received the recognition for its special contribution to the development of higher education in international frameworks, i.e. for its participation in the European University Alliance Ace2Eu.
The recognition, at a ceremony in Sveti Nikole, was received by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of UGD, Prof. Dr. Ana Nikodinovska-Krstevska.
– Gratitude to the journalists who emphasized how important what UGD is currently doing with the European University Alliance is. This alliance means raising higher education to a higher, European level, and UGD from Shtip is in the company of the most important European universities. This means in short that students who will study within this alliance will have the opportunity to acquire a European diploma that will be on the same level as all European universities. The university remains open to any cooperation with journalists in terms of higher education – emphasized Prof. Dr. Nikodinovska when receiving the award.
So far, the European Union has funded 64 such alliances, which extend to 35 countries, including all EU member states, as well as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Turkey. They are deeply integrated communities and innovation networks, which network and bring together more than 2200 partners, including the non-governmental sector, enterprises, local and regional communities, higher education institutions that are part of the Bologna Process.
In addition to the UGD, numerous companies, organizations, institutions, sports clubs and individuals have also received awards from journalists from the East. The journalists’ recognition is being given for the tenth year in a row, and this year’s awards relate to achievements in the eastern region of the country in 2024.
