The Vice-Rector for Investments and Development of the University “Goce Delchev” – Shtip, Prof. Dr. Darko Lazarov, was a guest on the show “What the People Think” on TV Star, where he spoke about the University’s investment plans for 2026 and the strategic directions for its future development.
He emphasized that the University “Goce Delchev” has ambitious plans aimed at modernizing the conditions for studying and significantly improving the conditions for scientific research work of the teaching staff. Part of the investments will be realized through the University’s own resources, while a significant part will result from project activities financed by domestic and international sources.
Additionally, Prof. Dr. Lazarov also addressed the intensification of cooperation with industry, which is one of the key missions of the University in the direction of creating added value for society and the wider community. In that context, he pointed out that some of the scientific results and research generated in scientific research centers and laboratories have a pronounced applied dimension and are aimed at solving specific problems and challenges facing the business sector.
At the same time, the University is actively working on establishing a university startup center, which will provide appropriate institutional infrastructure and support for students and professors in the process of commercializing innovations, as well as in launching startups and spin-off companies.
